Ogunquit

We actually spent time on the beach in Ogunquit twice. The first time was on day 1 before we drove to Vermont. After leaving the airport we drove down Route 1 to look at the Ocean. We stopped at the first beach we stumbled across on a very sunny day and it happened to be Ogunquit.

We re-visited the beach for half of the morning on day 4 of our trip. While not quite as sunny, we still had a good time at this great beach and in this great town. Ogunquit is one of those towns that are very touristy and you can see why many, many people like to come up here and visit in the summertime.

We stayed at a wonderful hotel called the Admiral's Inn. The staff were very friendly, the accommodations were wonderful and it was within a 5 minute walk of the beach, such a great place that I would be very willing to spend the money to stay there again (everything in Ogunquit is a bit pricey).

At the beach we found plenty of sea shells, played in the sand and waded a bit in the water (still too cold for swimming in my book - but some of the locals were braving it!). One of the best things about our driving trips is we get to see and experience a lot, and find the places we would like to visit again. Ogunquit and the surrounding towns of Wells, the Kennebunks, etc., yeah, we'd go there again. (Outside of tourist season of course).
